The Heart of a Lie Cover

Here is the updated and better version of "The Heart of a Lie" cover. I'm much more pleased with this cover and I'm getting better at designing covers, too. Covers are kind of hard because I need to find a striking image that conveys the story while also grabbing a reader's attention.

Would I want to pick this book up off a shelf and read it? Yes, I think I would!

The power of a good cover speaks volumes (haha book joke). It is designed to whet the reader's appetite for what's inside, to tell a little bit of what the book is about, to hint at the genre and theme. Plus I have to fit the title and my name in there somewhere. It gets confusing!

But I'm happy with this cover. Others may be more difficult (or easy?) to design, but this one captures the story: my version of a historical New England Gothic tale, complete with scandalous back story, a locked bedroom, family secrets and an uber-hot bachelor.

I'm almost done, too! :)
